Hogrefe started in the Netherlands in 2007. For 16 years we have been working with a small team in Amsterdam on good publications in the field of psychology, psychiatry and pedagogy.
We work for Dutch psychologists, psychiatrists and psychotherapists who use our tools in their daily work. Our portfolio includes assessments to be used as a basis for diagnosing, to support personnel selection decisions, and to serve as a starting point for treatment. We also specialize in publishing books designed to help our customers stay up to date on the latest developments and treatments in psychology.
Simon Nak

Publishing Manager
Simon Nak is publishing manager at Hogrefe Uitgevers, the Netherlands. Together with his team, he focuses on publishing original Dutch tests as well as adaptations from other languages, mainly for mental health and educational purposes.
Simon was born and raised in Haarlem, the Netherlands, in 1984 and moved to Amsterdam in 2004 to study Psychology. After studying Clinical Psychology in Brighton (UK) for 6 months, he earned his Master’s degree in Clinical neuropsychology in 2010. Shortly after that he joined Hogrefe.
Discovering test publishing, marketing and project management along the way, Simon grew from publishing assistant, to project manager and finally to publishing manager in 2016.
Because of his increasingly international focus and interest, Simon has become a regular participant of the ETPG meetings and was elected President for the 2021-2022 year of operations. He hosted the ETPG’s annual conference in Amsterdam in 2022.
Simon lives in the North of Amsterdam with his girlfriend and their three children.
